South Asian Forum for Environment [SAFE], and RENEW (Respect Educate Nurture Empower Women) of Bhutan, is organizing an exclusive exhibition of recycled handicraft utilityproducts under the project titled, “Cottage Enterprise for Paper & Textile Recycling – A Climate Smart Livelihood for Women Empowerment in Bhutan”, funded by India Bhutan Foundation.
The exhibition inauguration ceremony will be held on 23th November 2017, at 9.30am at Royal University of Bhutan (Auditorium) and will continue till 25th November 2017, to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against women.
Project background : The present project attempts to develop a sustainable livelihood paradigm for the common women in Bhutan by instituting cottage enterprises for paper and textile recycling through capacity building and technology cooperation.
- To impart awareness and inculcate habit of segregation of waste paper and textiles at source.
- To impart technology transfer by means of demonstrative capacity building and skill development for common women in Bhutan through training workshops, exposure visits and preparations.
- To empower common women through entrepreneurial training for operational enterprises on recycling paper and textiles.
