With the objective of self-growth, learning and for building environmental leadership among youth, South Asian Forum for Environment, have designed a very intensive internship program at science-society for the students and research scholars aspiring their career in sustainable development sector. The goal of the internship program is to build the capacity of the interns for bigger exposure on real working environment specially the challenges as well as opportunities associated with development sectors. South Asian Forum for Environment (SAFE) provides internship opportunities to graduate, post-graduate, Ph.d students of Life science, Environmental Science and Social Science who wishes to work on environmental field.
SAFE conducts internship for minimum one month and maximum for three months and is open all year round.

Internship experience at SAFE
Last year, students from different educational Institution to mention a few, Aparupa Datta, TATA Institute of Social Sciences, Guwahati campus; Catherine Ivanovich, Princeton University, USA and Koustabh Das, NSHM Knowledge Campus, Kolkata participated in the month long programme. The main project on which students participated is Citizen Science approach to engage and knowledge-empower communities towards sustaining ecosystem services in East Kolkata Wetland. This time, SAFE's Internship programs offered the students an unique opportunity to develop professional skills in different aspects like intensive field work, field based survey, meeting different beneficiaries like fishermen community, farmers, fish and vegetable vendors whilst they also gained exposure to conduct meetings with stake holders and Interviewing them as well as shooting video documentary.
